Congratulations!
The Old Oak Bible Church is happy to learn of your pending wedding and that you are considering a ceremony at our church. We are always eager to be of assistance.
Our Congregation consists of several hundred members, and our Campus covers eight acres in Middleburg Heights, near the intersection of I-71 and Bagley Road, five minutes from Cleveland Hopkins Airport and twelve minutes from Downtown Cleveland. Known for a caring Pastoral Staff, lovely facilities and an exceptional ceremony, Old Oak Bible Church is a great place to get married!
We would like to share our facilities and our Staff without cost, but that's not possible. However, we've carefully prepared our list of "contributions" so as to keep your church expense to a minimum.
Most brides are aware that the church aspect of their wedding involves much more than building and aesthetics. It requires a great deal of "time" on the part of the Staff. The average bride meets with our Wedding Coordinator four times, speaks with her on the phone six times, and enjoys her assistance for two hours on the day of the ceremony.
The use of the sanctuary, the wedding paraphernalia, the lobby, the dressing rooms, the outdoor picture sites, and the time of the Coordinator are all included in the very reasonable contribution established for our Weddings.
Only those items that COST US EXTRA, such as live musicians, vocalists, printed programs, candlelight services, rehearsals and special holiday scheduling, are passed on to you.
Our Pastor offers his services for an honorarium given to him by the Best Man prior to the ceremony. This is traditional and reasonable.
There are no required "classes", just a simple "get-acquainted" that occurs six weeks prior to the wedding. This lasts thirty to forty minutes, and is an enjoyable experience.
Our Pastor is in great demand as a speaker, and he's especially sought after for weddings. What he says during the wedding ceremony is determined by Tradition, the Laws of the Land, and by his Ministerial Preference.
The wedding vows are simple and beautiful. The word "obey" is not used, but he will be the first to tell you that without "mutual loving submission", the marriage relationship will fall far short of what God intends it to be.
Although there is great "flexibility" in our ceremony, if you would prefer to "create your own ceremony", you would probably feel more comfortable with a Justice of The Peace, or at a wedding chapel.
Although we are not the only church in Cleveland that has a Wedding Ministry, we are one of only three that we know of, who are actual churches having what is commonly expected in the way of ministry, staff and facilities. Because we are not in the wedding "business" competing with these churches, we list them for you here, and offer their wedding information below:
